What is Brie Brûlée?
Completely Awesome. That’s the only way to describe these incredible ‘inventions’! But be warned; you may never want to eat Brie any other way again!
The official commentary runs thus: ‘Inspired by the classic French dessert, we have applied the decadence of a crusty caramelised sugary top to the warm, silky luxury of baked brie. The perfect union of two lovely foods resulting in an appetiser or cheese course of unparalleled goodness’! There. We certainly could not put it any better. We challenge you NOT to try these!
Brie Brûlé comes in three delectable flavour combinations. One of our absolute favorites has to be Caramel, Spice & Almonds! The sweet scents of a country harvest dessert will fill the air when this topping is used to coat your next baked brie adventure. Crispy, nutty and filled with aroma…
How to ‘make’: Preheat oven to 175C / Gas mark 4. Gently scrape/cut off the white rind with a sharp knife until the top surface is clear, leaving the sides and bottom intact. Place in the bottom half of the Brie Brûlé tin and sprinkle with 1/2 a packet of Brie Brûlé for a standard size brie or a full packet for a large whole brie. Bake uncovered for 15-20minutes (standard size), 20-25 minutes (large) or until gently softened and warmed throughout. Then use a small hand-held torch or place the dish under the grill to form a golden brown crusty top. Leave to rest 5 minutes or so and ‘joy of joys’: SERVE!... with crusty bread, bread sticks, crackers, fruit, meats...
PS: This doesn’t only work with Brie; Camembert works just as well.
